One of the most noticeable features of a gun is it’s stock. The grain, the colour, the shine. A traditional oil finish can enhance the appearance of your stock and forend, bringing out the natural patterns of the grain. The mixture of oils and waxes will also condition the wood, and help aid water resistance.

Using a unique recipe that has been developed over the past 15 years, the oil finish that we can provide will make your stock look exceptional.

This recipe, combined with our own precise application technique and well known materials such as red oils and rotten stone will create a beautiful, strong and protective finish. 

It is your choice as to whether you want a high gloss finish, satin or classic shine. 

The process starts with removing the current finish, taking the wood back to the raw material.

We then apply red oil followed by layer after layer of new finish, building it up slowly to create the desired effect. It is time consuming, but very worthwhile. 

Our traditional oil finish will work on any wooden stocked guns, whether they are new, second hand or vintage. 

It is a way of making your gun very personal, enhancing its appearance and taking it from an ‘off the shelf’ purchase to something you have played a part in creating. 

The addition of a gold or silver oval, engraved with your initials, or a leather covered pad is another way to add that personal touch.
